Scenius rides into Australia
Published: ASIA

AUSTRALIA: After receiving 14 units a few days prior to the event, Crystal Productions has implemented Clay Paky's Scenius moving head spotlights at the CMC Music Awards at the Queensland Performing Arts Centre. Seven units were hung for the production with an additional seven placed on the stage deck, making it the first time the Scenius has been used in Australia. Resolution X and Mandylights also provided equipment.
‘We are among the first companies in Australia to offer Scenius which gives us an advantage,’ stated David Thomas, managing director of Crystal. ‘Anybody can join the party later, but being an early adopter sets Crystal apart. Scenius is the new standard in lighting technology. It has a huge zoom, is super quiet and very fast for a fixture of its size. The depth of field with projected images is unlike anything we have seen before.’
Richard Neville, managing director of Mandylights, echoed the sentiment. ‘The Scenius is fantastic! We used them all onstage, kicking back into the audience and way into the house. The focal range is so long. It has a really flat field and there are no visible hot spots when you’re mixing pastel colours.’
