SCHOT tackles audio distribution at Clearwater Bay Golf & Country Club

HONG KONG: Located on Hong Kong’s Clearwater Bay Peninsula, refurbishment and expansion of the main clubhouse and restaurant areas at the Clearwater Bay Golf & Country Club provided the perfect opportunity to address the venue’s audio needs. Enlisting the services of South China House of Technology Ltd (SCHOT), the club opted to install a Symetrix Solus open-architecture DSP to undertake audio matrix and processing duties, along with Axxent power amplifiers. The equipment was sourced through regional distributor Soundclassy.

‘First of all, it had to be able to undertake standalone audio matrix and processing duties for the clubhouse and restaurant areas,’ explained Soundclassy director, Chris Fung. ‘Secondly, it also needed to work seamlessly alongside the AMX A/V technology that is being used by the Clearwater Bay club to control lighting and video. Plus it had to be easy to use by the personnel, with a minimum of specialist knowledge required.’

The installed Solus 16 DSP has been paired with ARC-2e wallmount control panels for on-site adjustment of basic parameters and presets. ‘They are very happy with the whole A/V system,’ said Mr Fung.
