Sennheiser celebrates official opening of Australian office

AUSTRALIA: Sennheiser electronic has celebrated the official opening of its newest office for Australia and New Zealand. Sennheiser Australia Pty Ltd – which emerged from the takeover of Syntec International last year – celebrated its grand opening with an event at Taranga Zoo, overlooking Sydney’s harbour. Over 200 guests attended the party, including both of Sennheiser’s CEOs, Dr Andreas Sennheiser and Daniel Sennheiser.

Also among those invited to the festivities were business partners and friends, as well as employees from Sennheiser. Well known recording artists James Morrison and Craig Calhoun provided the musical background for the event, with both relying on Sennheiser’s newest Digital 9000 wireless microphone system for their performances.

Dr Andreas Sennheiser was keen to stress the importance of opening a subsidiary in Australia and New Zealand. ‘For 70 years we at Sennheiser have been shaping the audio industry based on our heritage, innovation culture and our passion for excellence. Australia and New Zealand are very important markets for us. Now we are even better set up to serve our customers in this region.’ Daniel Sennheiser added, ‘the positive developments show us that the strategic decision to operate locally using our own subsidiaries is correct.’

According to the company, the launch of Sennheiser Australia as the company’s 16th distribution subsidiary demonstrates the international orientation of the parent company. Today Sennheiser is represented in more than 60 countries around the globe.

Speaking on behalf of the new subsidiary, Bjørn Rennemo Henriksen, managing director of Sennheiser Australia, commented that, ‘we have been operating independently as a distribution subsidiary of Sennheiser since September, and already the teams' achievements as well as the advantages for our customers are remarkable. Having a deep understanding of the totality of Sennheiser’s capabilities, I see it as a significant part of my role to provide the benefits of Sennheiser’s global presence to each individual customer in Australia and New Zealand.’
