Sennheiser enjoys record sales in 2014

WORLD: Sennheiser has announced record sales for the fiscal year 2014, with more than half of the company’s total sales generated in Europe, the Middle East and Africa, and its biggest growth in overall sales experienced in Asia. The company’s Professional Systems Division experienced a 7.9 per cent increase over the previous year.
‘We are very pleased to see a new record result,’ said Dr Frank Heinricht, chairman of the supervisory board of Sennheiser electronic GmbH & Co. KG. ‘The positive sales development in all regions has once again confirmed the strategic orientation of the company.’
The CEOs of the company were also pleased with the figures: ‘This excellent result is the consequence of our long-term strategy which we aim to continue in the future,’ said Dr Andreas Sennheiser.
‘We would like to thank all our employees for their commitment,’ added Daniel Sennheiser. ‘They are who have made this success possible.’
Total sales for the company rose by US$49.5 million to US$709.5 million – an increase of 7.5 per cent. The EMEA region experienced ‘stable’ growth of 2.1 per cent. Business in the Americas also experienced positive growth of 4.0 per cent. These regions were both eclipsed by the APAC region which enjoyed an overall sales growth of 30.9 per cent. The company attributes much of this growth to its newly formed sales subsidiary for Australia and New Zealand in addition to the Digital Dividend in Japan, where public funds were made available convert wireless microphone systems to new frequency bands.
Internally, Sennheiser reports a 6.4 per cent increase in research and development spending, one focus of which is on 3D immersive audio technology. ‘For us, this is a clear sign of our commitment to further strengthening innovative capacity at Sennheiser,’ stated Dr Sennheiser. ‘As a family business, we have the advantage of being able to pursue a long-term and sustainable strategy.’
