Sennheiser India endorses The Local Train

INDIA: Indian band The Local Train has been awarded a two-year endorsement deal with Sennheiser as their prize for winning the manufacturer’s recent competition to discover India’s top 50 emerging bands. Additionally, the top three bands in the competition each received new evolution wireless D1 microphone sets. Drawing from a pool of more than 200, the bands were ranked by artists and Sennheiser endorsers, Shankar-Ehsaan-Loy and Salim-Sulaiman.
‘Beginning with 218 bands and reaching the final stage after three months, the final 50 has been a very enthralling and an eventful journey. The fact that we have received participation from several Tier 2 and Tier 3 cities like Dehradun and Jharkand is a testament that Sennheiser has been able to provide young music lovers an apt platform to showcase their talent,’ commented Vipin Pungalia, vice president of sales and marketing at Sennheiser Electronics India Pvt Ltd. ‘The amazing jury comprising of Shankar-Ehsaan-Loy and Salim-Sulaiman helped us in finding our Top50 bands. We would like to congratulate the winners and welcome the bands to be a part of the Sennheiser family. We are also gearing up for a second season of Sennheiser Top50 with a lot more surprises in store.’
In addition to The Local Train’s endorsement deal, first runners-up, Shadow and Light, won a recording session with Ashish Manchanda at Flying Carpet Productions in Mumbai and the second runners up, Purple Fusion, will be mentored by Shankar-Ehsaan-Loy or Salim Sulaiman. The Top 50 bands have also each won a limited edition Sennheiser e835 microphone.
