Parvaaz wins Sennheiser Top 50

INDIA: The results are in as Sennheiser’s second annual Top 50 contest has drawn to a close with Parvaaz beating the competition to win a set of evolution wireless 500 G3 vocal microphones and HD 280 Pro headphones, as well as a two-year endorsement deal from the manufacturer and a trophy to take home. The judging panel of Papon, Uday Benegal and Ashish Manchanda ranked Peepal Tree and Barefaced Liar in second and third place respectively, the former receiving evolution wireless 300 G3 vocal microphones, HD 215 headphones and a recording session with Mr Manchanda while the latter was presented with evolution wireless 100 G3 vocal microphones, HD 205 headphones and a mentoring session with a Sennheiser endorsee.
The grand finale pit the final five bands in the competition against each other in a battle of the bands at the Hard Rock Café Mumbai Worli. This second edition of the Top 50 competition was staged in conjunction with Johnnie Walker The Journey to provide a platform for India’s emerging bands. A total of 366 bands reportedly entered the contest.
‘The immense talent that we have witnessed in this journey is a testimony to the fact that India has a plethora of talent across the country waiting for the right platform and opportunity to prove themselves,’ said Vipin Pungalia, director, professional segment at Sennheiser India. ‘The journey has been exciting and I would like to thank our jury and sponsors for making the Sennheiser Top 50 possible. I would also like to congratulate the winners and welcome the bands to the Sennheiser family.’
