Servaas Maesen joins Apart as APAC sales manager

ASIA: Servaas Maesen has joined Apart Audio as the company’s new sales manager. He will be responsible for the Asia-Pacific region and will report directly to Kris Vermuyten, the manufacturer’s sales and marketing director.
Described as an avid music listener, Mr Maesen has a passion for both technical challenges as well as great sound: ‘I was immediately attracted to join Apart Audio full-time in their development of the Asia-Pacific region,’ he commented. ‘Apart has great products, a fantastic team and continuously strives to better understand their target public and application.’
After his Masters degree in Germanic Languages and European Economics, Mr Maesen left Belgium to work in Peru as a cooperant for the NGO Broederlijk Delen. Back in Belgium, he then worked four years as an HR specialist, where he was responsible for the business development of recruitment projects all over Eastern Europe.
In 2008, he was elected as a Prince Albert Fund Candidate and moved to China to work as market development manager for Umicore’s Rechargeable Battery Material unit. He then decided to remain in Shanghai to study Chinese full-time for one year, followed by sales projects for several Belgian SME’s.
Clearly happy with the new appointment, Mr Maesen concluded: ‘I am really excited by the challenge to get people here to experience the right choice of sound.’
