Shanghai's Starbucks get Bosch solution

CHINA: Uni-President Starbucks, a joint venture of Uni President China Holdings Ltd. and the Starbucks Coffee Company has installed Bosch sound systems in all of its stores in Shanghai as well as in the Jiangsu and Zhejiang provinces.

To upgrade customer experience at its stores, Uni-President Starbucks contracted Bosch Security Systems to equip about 200 existing stores with new sound systems. Each Bosch sound system consists of a Plena economy (PLE) mixer amplifier and a number of loudspeakers apt for indoor and outdoor use. The same sound system will also be used in the 300 new stores that are expected to open in the course of this year.

Plena public address systems have been designed for small-to-mid-sized locations such as the Starbucks stores. The system allows users to define different zones that can be addressed individually. Store personnel can feed music into each system from a computer or an mp3 player and wall panels allow the staff to control zones and volumes of the sound system remotely.
