JAPAN: Shure’s SE846 sound isolating earphone was awarded the annual VGP (Visual Grand Prix) Summer Gold Award, which is described as ‘one of the most desired and respected prizes in the Japanese consumer electronics market’.
‘The SE846 pushed the frontiers of in-ear earphones,’ commented Mr Orihara, a judge for the Lifestyle A/V sectional committee. ‘A customisable sound signature with changeable nozzles is indeed great fun for audiophiles.’
The SE846’s low-pass filter was another feature that earned praise from the panel.
‘The best part of the SE846 is the low-pass filter,’ confirmed Atsushi Takahashi, exclusive judge for the Lifestyle A/V sectional committee. ‘The developers imagined unprecedented sound and achieved it with great technical challenge.’
Similarly, Kenji Nomura, exclusive judge for the Lifestyle A/V sectional committee echoed: ‘The innovative low-pass filter demonstrates Shure’s technical capabilities.’
The SE846 Earphones carry a one-year limited warranty and are currently shipping in Asia Pacific. Held by Ongen Publishing since 1984, the VGP award has contributed to the development and vitality of the A/V industry in Asia.
