SM Cinema goes 6P for 3D projection

PHILLIPPINES: SM Cinema’s latest large screen auditorium has been outfitted with a Christie 6-Primary (6P) dual-head laser projection system. The auditorium in Cebu features a 20.5m screen and is one of around 100 venues around the world that has opted for the technology.
‘Having had the opportunity to attend numerous demonstrations of RGB laser projectors at various trade shows and events, I can confidently state that Christie’s 6P laser projection system delivers the most stunning and realistic 3D visuals,’ said Edgar C Tejerero, president, SM Lifestyle Entertainment Incorporated. ‘We believe that this is the future of digital cinema and are proud to be one of the first cinema chains in the region to deliver the best cinematic experience to our patrons.’
Following the initial installation, the cinema chain will deploy an additional five units of the 6P system to expand its laser projection footprint in the Philippines.
