Sony laser projectors support immersive artworks at the Ikkan Art Gallery

SINGAPORE: As the official projection sponsor for the Moving Light, Roving Sight exhibition at the Ikkan Art Galley in Singapore, Sony has supplied nine of its VPL-FHZ55 3LCD laser source projectors and a VPLGTZ1 ultra-short throw laser projector to facilitate the construction of a series multimedia art projections.
The exhibition features an array of digital, video, new media and sound works by nine internationally renowned artists: teamLab, Jenny Holzer, Naoko Tosa, Teppei Kaneuji, Haegue Yang, Takashi Ishida, Oliver Herring, Douglas Gordon and invisible designs lab. The manufacturer’s VPL-FHZ55 projectors are being used for the Flowers and People, Cannot be Controlled but Live Together exhibit, which consists of a walkway and large open space with projections covering all surfaces. The material being displayed on the walls is created and rendered by a computer in real-time, with interaction by the viewers continuously changing the work. The manufacturer’s VPL-GTZI ultra-short throw model was used to showcase artworks by Naoko Tosa in 4K resolution.
