KOREA: Soundus has been appointed to represent beyerdynamic in South Korea. The deal – formally announced to Pro Audio Asia at the Frankfurt Pro Light + Sound exhibition – sees the Seoul-based distributor taking over sales in the country for beyerdynamic microphones and conferencing systems, including after-sales care for existing customers.
The appointment follows the recent arrival at the manufacturer of Kamal Mahtani, leading Asia Pacific sales from Singapore under the title director of sales and marketing. His experience of working with Soundus whilst in a previous role was reportedly the deciding factor in his decision to appoint the distributor.
‘I’ve had great experiences with Soundus in the past so when I came into the picture we all pounced on the opportunity,’ explained Mr Mahtani. ‘The combination of the experience that Soundus have and the brands they represent is impressive. Their expertise and the fact that beyerdynamic is an anchor brand for them means that this is a win-win for all of us.’
‘beyerdynamic is a premium, European brand and a very well respected company,’ enthused Soundus CEO DJ Kwon. ‘They bring great value to the Soundus brand portfolio and also to the company itself. We are very excited to be working with them.’
