Stagetec Asia completes Kristal FM integration project

BRUNEI: Stagetec Asia recently won a tender bid for the supply and integration of new equipment into Kristal FM’s existing radio system, which saw the company provide a 12-fader DHD On Air mixer, a DHD 52/XC core for the MCR router, as well as a talkback system to the Brunei facility.
Stagetec Asia also supplied and integrated a Jünger DAP LM2 audio leveller to control audio levels and loudness. Sonifex products were also involved in the project, including a telephone hybrid and a word clock distribution amplifier.
‘We won the bid due to a combination of well designed equipment and a very cost effective price,’ said David Chan, MD of Stagetec Asia. ‘Our reputation in the region as the main broadcast equipment supplier with a professional service support team also helped greatly.
‘The challenge with this project was in integrating the existing system with the new On Air mixer and MCR router,’ he admitted. ‘The main difficulty was to ensure that the current system was running and that all the new systems were ready to be switched over. Most of the main work had to be completed past midnight, and the timeframe for the work to be completed was limited as there was always an early morning show scheduled. We are pleased to say that we were able to complete the project within the timeframe and that we successfully launched the new On Air system at Kristal FM.
‘Due to the project being in Brunei, it had a strict timeframe and had high expectations, so we deployed an experienced team to work and oversee the complete installation,’ he continued. ‘Stagetec Asia has a good technical team that can handle various projects regardless of where they take place. We eventually completed this project with a great result and it was well received by the client. Thanks to Telemedia, our local partner, and Kristal FM for this opportunity,’ he concluded.
