Symetrix links up Beijing Higher People's Court

CHINA: Newly installed Symetrix processors at the Beijing Higher People's Court have reportedly resolved issues with echo in its Executive Command Center while also providing processing and signal distribution for a total of 46 inputs and 14 outputs. The project saw Symetrix distributor EZPro International taking responsibility for supply and system tuning in partnership with Beijing Jinqiao Times Culture Development Co, who served as systems integrator in charge of product purchase and system specification.

'EZPro has a very close relationship with Jinqiao Times,' explained Zhang Yangyang, EZPro sales manager for northern China. 'When Jinqiao Times told us that they had a project that was in need of reliable and flexible DSP products, we recommended Symetrix ? and it quickly became clear that their solutions could indeed meet the substantial requirements of the High Court's Executive Command Center.'

Jinqiao Times specified three Symetrix SymNet Radius open architecture DSPs with Dante and Acoustic Echo Cancellation (AEC), together with two SymNet xIn 12 expanders. 'In the audio system, the large number of inputs made for a rather complex requirement for signal routing and control,' stated EZPro systems engineer Mr Fan. 'However, with the choice of the Symetrix products, we have been able to group the input sources through the SymNet Composer software, simplifying the entire operation considerably.'

Being the most senior-level judiciary in the municipality of Beijing, court proceedings are both recorded and transmitted live, meaning the system's sound quality was an important factor. Jinqiao Times opted to specify the Radius' with AEC. 'The AEC function eradicates distracting echo and obtrusive noise while delivering pristine full-bandwidth audio to both near and far ends,' offered Mr Zhang. 'It's a really great feature for this kind of application.'

Additional equipment installed as part of the project included an Allen & Health mixer, Mission Pro power amplifiers and EAW column loudspeakers. Staff are reportedly 'delighted' by the perfomance of the new audio system.
