TAIWAN: A Martin Audio sound reinforcement system has been installed within the IBT Concert Hall, which occupies the first and second floors of the Industry Bank of Taiwan, located on the Tiding Boulevard in Taipei’s developing Neihu Science Industrial District.
The 360-seat concert hall has been luxuriously furnished and now boasts an audio system for live concerts, theatrical productions and lecture style presentations. The interior decor of the hall was designed by British Barbara Designs Inc, while the sound system was designed and installed by Taisheng Trading Corporation under the supervision of Victor Lu.
Martin Audio loudspeakers powered by PSS 2400 amplifiers have been selected for the FOH sound reinforcement. Owing to the limited space in the front proscenium, a total of six 12-inch CT2 coaxial speakers have been installed, in left, centre and right positions. Two CTX 18-inch subwoofers have been positioned under the stage to extend the low frequencies, while four Martin Audio Effect 5 loudspeakers have been mounted on the left and right walls to provide surround sound when movies are played. Stage monitoring is provided by two Martin Audio CTW 12-inch coaxial speakers.
Meanwhile, two Audix ADX112 12-inch gooseneck microphones provide rostrum speech, with an additional ADX112 for the presenter. Four Microtech Gefell UM70S condenser microphones are used for concert pick-ups, while another four MTG M910 condenser microphones are used for solo pick-up recordings. Four dual-channel Mipro ACT-727 models provide a wireless microphone solution.
Sources within the hall include two Tascam CD-01U CD players, a CD-RW901SL recorder and a CD-D4000 for rapid CD duplication. Canare microphone cables and loudspeaker cables are used throughout the installation, terminated by Neutrik gold-plated connectors. The FOH digital mixing console is a Tascam DM-3500 which is monitored with ADAM Audio P11A speakers.
