Taiwan Zhongshan Hall chooses d&b

TAIWAN: A d&b audiotechnik PA system has recently been installed into the Taiwan Zhongshan Hall’s 1,200-capacity auditorium. The system integrator for the project was WeiShin Co Ltd, whilst Topsound Co Ltd’s Mr Liu designed the audio system with guidance from d&b China’s Alex Poon.

The Zhongshan Hall was built in 1928, and has served as a formal venue for foreign dignitaries, as well as hosting various important official ceremonies. In recognition of the distinctive historic significance of this institution, the government of Taiwan formally designated Zhongshan Hall a Class Two National Historical Site in 1992.

Nowadays, the Zhongshan Hall serves more as a traditional art cultural centre, for which the Zhongzheng Auditorium plays a key part. After a renovation project in 2001, there are now 20 rows on the first floor and 14 on the second floor.

d&b Qi1 and Qi7 line arrays make up the main FOH system, supported by eight E6 loudspeakers for front-fill, and a number of MAX12s for monitors. The entire system is powered by D6 and D12 amplifiers. Chiwai Chan, technical director from d&b China, provided support with the final tuning.
