THAILAND: Bangkok’s newly-built Rattanakosin Exhibition Hall has been installed with Medialon A/V control systems, which are intended to help promote the history of Thailand’s Kingdom of Siam era.
Recently opened by the Crown Property Bureau of Thailand, the Exhibition Hall – designed and managed by Rightman Co Ltd – comprises an interactive self-learning centre and venue boasting the most extensive ever range of artefacts and collected histories on the Kingdom of Siam era (also called Rattanakosin). Included among the exhibits, which are located over three floors, is the Grandeur Rattanakosin Room, with a four-dimensional multimedia show mixing audio, lighting and video as well as scent and sensory effects. Elsewhere, the Remarkable Entertainment Room offers ‘a panoramic view of the olden days of Siam’, while the Renowned Ceremonies Room offers 3D representations of Royal ceremonies.
According to the Hall’s director, Upatham Nisitsukchareon, the venue is intended to increase ‘Thai public awareness of the greatness of our nation’, while special events manager Sermkhun Kunavongse adds that ‘foreign guests who come to Thailand are able to learn about the beauty of Thai culture, and our people, especially the youth, can be proud of the Thai way’.
The Hall’s A/V infrastructure was supplied by Advance Technology Contracting Co Ltd (ATC). Medialon Manager V5 Pro software plus two Showmaster ST units and seven MIP players have been installed in the centre, while ATC used Medialon’s free Manager Panel software and a Rugboard wi-fi touch-screen to create a touch-control panel for remote operation of any A/V system within the Hall.
‘Medialon Manager software is the best A/V interactive control system solution,’ declared ATC A/V and lighting specialist Noppharit Neansa-ard, following the installation. ‘It allows to remotely synchronise and control any of the devices spread into the seven exhibition rooms of the Rattanakosin Hall, along with other equipment such as an hydraulics lift and automatic doors.’
A further two exhibitions are set to open within the Rattanakosin complex in 2011.
