TMD becomes the AFA’s guardian

SINGAPORE: TMD has been enlisted to deploy its Mediaflex Guardian at the Asian Film Archive (AFA). The software house will work alongside Singapore-based IT integrator, VSolutions Pte to install the Mediaflex media asset management (MAM) solution that has been specifically optimised for organisations that manage television and film archives.

A configurable workflow and asset management system for both physical and digital assets, Mediaflex Guardian will migrate the AFA’s collection data of film stock and digitised copies from its existing Microsoft Excel system. This will reportedly streamline the AFA’s approach to preservation, enabling the collection to be more accessible.

‘This will be a quantum leap forward in our ability to manage our growing collection,’ said Karen Chan, executive director at the AFA. ‘Mediaflex Guardian will increase our ability to catalogue, preserve, and share a barely tapped reservoir of high quality content that deserves to be seen, studied, and enjoyed.’

‘The AFA was founded to preserve and disseminate the vast repository of high-quality Asian cinema, but that’s difficult to achieve with the speed, accuracy, and efficiency required in a digital age,’ added TMD CEO, Tony Taylor. ‘Media Guardian will vastly accelerate access to the AFA’s digital assets in a way that will benefit not only the AFA, but thousands of film and art aficionados throughout the region, and the world.’
