TVU Networks brings Eurasia Friendship Railway Project to Korea
Published: ASIA

KOREA: TVU Networks' TVUPack IP video transmission solutions have been used by the Korean broadcast network, YTN, to capture and deliver live video content from the Eurasia Friendship Railway Project. The network used the TVU Networks Global Rental Programme to acquire the manufacturer's mobile uplink backpack solution and broadcast in real-time to viewers in South Korea from several stops along the 14,000km journey ? Vladivostok, Moscow, Warsaw and Berlin.
'The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Korea Railroad Corporation (Korail) co-sponsored this ambitious railway project meant to promote peace and unity throughout Eurasia, and we had a firm understanding of how important this was to the people of South Korea and how essential our role was in bringing them closer to the news,' explained Hyungil Park, YTN technical planning team manager.
'TVU's Global Rental Programme was fundamentally important to YTN's coverage of the Eurasia express train journey. To capture footage from each of the key stops along the lengthy journey, we required additional TVUPacks,' he continued. 'We have been using TVUPacks to transmit news from all over South Korea since 2011, and we knew would could rely on TVU for this purpose as well. TVUPacks are made for this sort of mobile broadcasting and this was such a large and important event, we could not risk using a product we weren't confident with.'
