TW Audio flies high at the NEA finale

CHINA: A little over a week after it had provided a TW Audio solution for sound reinforcement at Beijing National Stadium, also known as The Bird’s Nest, Guangzhou Ruisheng Lighting & Audio Equipment Co Ltd returned to the venue for National Electronic Arena (NEA) 2016’s grand finale. With the NEA event featuring a similar staging and audience layout to that of the Flying Bird Graduation Party concert 10 days earlier, Ruisheng deployed a similar TW Audio solution.

The Bird’s Nest was configured to accommodate an audience of 15,000 spectators, with 6,000 filling the stadium floor while the remaining 9,000 occupying lower tier on both the left and right, as well as at the rear. Ruisheng once again made use of acoustic simulation software before integrating the system that comprised 36 Vera 36 line array elements flown in an L/R setup to provide coverage for the audience on the ground and on the lower tier at the back of the venue. To provide sound reinforcement for those seated in the tiers either side of the stadium, an additional six Vera 36 units were flown per side, serving as side-fills. Meanwhile, four T24N cabinets added front-fill.

Also implemented were 16 Vera S33 and 12 BSX subwoofers, ground stacked to the left and right of the stage. A total of 42 Powersoft K3DSP-AESOP DSP amplifiers powered the system and control was via a Midas Pro 9 digital mixing console. AKG DMS 800 reference standard wireless microphones were used as Tyloo won the championship, beating 15 other teams on games such as Hearthstone and Fifa.
