WORLD: London-based VDC Trading, manufacturer of the Van Damme range of audio, data, broadcast, electrical and hi fi cables, recently held a party to celebrate its 25th anniversary in studio two of Abbey Road, where many legendary artists – most famously The Beatles – have recorded.
More than 130 guests, including press, clients, partner companies as well as a surprise visit from Led Zeppelin guitarist Jimmy Page, were entertained by guitarists Bob Wootton and Nick Tilley, solo artist Tom Chacon and comedian musician Earl Okin. As well as hearing the bands cover the Fab Four’s songs, guests had a chance to visit the control room and see some of the recording equipment that made musical history.
Established in 1987 by Niall Holden and his business partner, the company has just celebrated two years working on some of the biggest projects in the UK. Highlights included work for the Ambassador Theatre Group, Ministry of Sound, Saracens rugby ground, Silverstone racetrack, the Olympic Games opening and closing ceremonies, the Queens Diamond Jubilee and the We Will Rock You live tour.
As well as supplying the audio and broadcast industries, the company has seen a rise in its marine business, supplying some of the world's super yachts as well as in the medical, industrial and automotive markets. VDC’s latest innovations include a fibre optic laboratory and the YouSpec website feature, allowing clients to design their own cables ready for delivery.
