HONG KONG: Vega Global recently celebrated its 30th birthday in style at the Sheraton Hong Kong Hotel. The company’s founder and managing director, Laurie Chow, hosted the festivities, which were attended by more than 300 guests comprising business partners, clients, Vega overseas branch leaders and its Hong Kong staff.

The event began with a short film that documented the life of Mr Chow and how he had started the business, leading it to become a global entity. ‘The autobiography video of Laurie is very inspirational. A 30-year struggle is not an ordinary story and I was lucky to witness Laurie's success and Vega's growth,’ commented Shun Hing Group senior manager Patrick Tse, who was in attendance.

Following the film, Mr Chow took to the stage to deliver an opening speech, in which he discussed the vision for his business and thanked Vega’s staff and business partners for their contributions over the decades. Before the guests enjoyed their meals, Vega’s management team and the heads of branches all appeared onstage, also expressing gratitude towards everyone in attendance. This was led by Matthew Deayton, global business development director, who also raised a toast to Mr Chow.

The event was capped off by awards being presented to 54 members of staff for their long-term service at Vega. A song commissioned and composed especially for the event played as the celebrations drew to a close.

‘I will continue to let Vega shine,’ declared Mr Chow, ‘by focusing on our core business so as to grow together with all group members and partners.’
