Waves Audio to receive Technical Grammy

WORLD: Waves Audio is to be presented with a Technical Grammy Award in February 2011 for the company’s contribution to the recording industry.
The news was announced by The Recording Academy as it revealed this year’s list of Special Merit Awards recipients, with Waves Audio named as a Technical Grammy honouree. An invitation-only ceremony will be held on February 12th for the presentation of the award, while a formal acknowledgement will be made during the televised Grammy’s ceremony on February 13th. The announcement sees the plug-in developer join a list of companies including Apple, Sony/Philips, Shure and Yamaha.
‘This is a tremendous honour,’ commented Gilad Keren, founder and CEO of Waves Audio. ‘Knowing that we've played a part in the creation of so much great music over the years motivates us to keep making new tools for the audio community, doing our small part to enable their creativity.’
