What’s on offer at Palme Vietnam?

VIETNAM: Informa Exhibitions held a press conference at the Rex Hotel in Ho Chi Minh City today on the eve of the 2013 edition of Palme Vietnam. The third staging of the exhibition, workshops and demonstrations sees the showcase for professional audio, lighting, A/V, broadcast and entertainment technology return to the southern Vietnamese metropolis three years after its last foray here.
‘We want to bring together buyers and sellers so that they may network and learn over the three days,’ MD (Asia) Rosalind Ng exclaimed. Highlighting economic growth statistics in various national sectors set the tone prior to several exhibition sponsors promoting what visitors to the show could expect to see on their booths in terms of new technologies and products.
Palme Vietnam this year includes an outdoor line array system demonstration by eight brands (DAS Audio, Loud Professional, JBL, Master Audio, Nexo, Next-Proaudio, TW Audio and Z-Sound). In addition, a Pioneer DJ and Me competition will provide hands on product workshops and technical seminars. A full day seminar on Broadcast Technologies will include presentations from Ho Chi Minh Television’s (HTV) technical management department and one of Vietnam’s leading media consultants.
During the build-up to this year’s exhibition, it is clear that the floor plan has shrunk since 2010, although it is evident that the organiser is keen to enhance business opportunities at the show. Many overseas exhibitors, for example, experienced translation difficulties during the first 2010 edition. Pre-show high SPL’s were also very much in evidence.
