Ableton’s Dubai User Group off to a strong start

UAE: Music software manufacturer, Ableton, has seen its first Ableton User Group started in the Middle East. The Dubai chapter is led by Costas Papa and Brad Moody, with the Granular Initiative serving as its digital home. The Dubai User Group has been designed to provide a platform for users to collaborate and exchange ideas.
Mr Papa is both a musician and a media consultant, based locally in Dubai. Mr Moody, meanwhile, serves as the head of digital media at the American University in Dubai. The Granular Initiative promises to supply daily online content for music creators and a resource for musicians of all skill levels.
‘Dubai deserves to have its own Ableton User Group, with its thriving electronic music scene and a strong community of musicians using Ableton to create some outstanding music,’ said Jaffer Sadique from regional Ableton distributor, MediaCast. ‘Costas and Brad are a wonderful team to head this group and this initiative will help create a community that will bring together the musicians in the region.’
The first Dubai User Group hosted event took place recently, reportedly proving so popular that future events are already in the works, including artist demonstrations and expert talks. ‘We booked out in less than 36 hours on our first event; there’s no better way to validate a concept,’ enthused Mr Costas. ‘I am super thrilled to be involved with the Dubai Ableton User Group, as there is so much potential and untapped creative space this can progress and grow.’
‘It's an incredible experience to be involved with the Dubai Ableton User Group,’ added Mr Moody. ‘Extensive planning and thought has gone into the best way to move forward and I've no doubt that it will thrive in the region. Interacting with such a vast group of creative minds is amazing!’
