Adamson S10 launches in Cape Town with TID

SOUTH AFRICA: Following an earlier debut in Johannesburg, the Adamson S10 line array has arrived in the South African city of Cape Town courtesy of a special launch event hosted by the Canadian manufacturer’s official distributor, Technology Innovated Distribution (TID). The event took place at the end of February and was attended by Adamson’s Jochen Sommer.
The launch drew a large and diverse crowd of attendees to what TID’s sales and marketing director, Tiaan Hoogstad, refers to as ‘one of the big markets in SA – we launched the product in JHB late last year and there was an outcry from our customers in Cape Town for a launch of their own’.
Within the audience were local production companies, systems integrators, theatre representatives and attendees from houses of worship. ‘We got the same amount of people in Cape Town and Johannesburg, which is a very good sign,’ continued Mr Hoogstad. ‘The feedback we got from the attendees was great, especially on the sound quality in the arena. It was also great for the customers to get to meet and talk to Jochen.’
The day began with a history of Adamson and its product range, followed by a detailed explanation of the S10 feature set. A full demonstration of the system followed, after which attendees were shown how to rig and take down the system.
‘The only way to get excited about a brand is to see and more importantly hear the system, and when it comes to Adamson this is the ultimate listing experience,’ declared Mr Hoogstad. ‘The reaction was extremely positive – there is a lot of interest in the S10 in the African market as well as local Cape Town market. In the end, Cape Town compared very favourably to the event in Johannesburg, which does not happen very often. The Cape Town market is alive and kicking!’
