Allen & Heath serves a Kenyan community

KENYA: The Oshwal Community Centre in Nairobi has provided the local community with a venue for social and religious gatherings since it was opened in 1984. More than three decades later and the centre, which can accommodate around 4,000 people, required an updated audio system to replace its outdated and obsolete setup that relied on an analogue mixer. Sound Creations provided the solution in a system that is built around an Allen & Heath Qu-32 digital mixing system, which was acquired from distributor Paxt.
Sound Creations installed the Qu-32 alongside an AR2412 AudioRack and AR84 remote I/O racks. This system provides the community centre with more outputs than the old mixer and reportedly facilitates a simpler set up. The mixer also possess the ability to serve as either an analogue or digital stage box, which also influenced the centre’s decision.
‘The sound quality is very good, and now I have more and better mixing options with this new system,’ declared the Oshwal Centre’s lead sound technician, Mr George.
In addition to the mixer, to the new sound system deployed includes Shure wireless microphones and KRK monitor speakers.
