Aspec becomes part of Plasa

WORLD: The Association of Studio and Production Equipment Companies (Aspec) has become part of Plasa. The association’s member companies will now be full members of Plasa and Aspec will continue as a special interest group with a focus on the needs of the film, television and broadcast community.

Aspec will continue to address areas of training, qualifications, health and safety, security and legislation. It will be working closely with Plasa’s Production Equipment Rental Group (PERG), its counterpart group based in North America, discussing and sharing common rental issues which affect all those involved in the sector. At present Aspec and PERG are heavily involved in reducing the global levels of fraud and equipment theft.

Aspec’s chair, John Rendall, and secretary, Kate Furssedonn, will remain in their current positions. ‘We look forward with enthusiasm to a very positive and constructive future within Plasa,’ said Mr Rendall.
