Bosch conferencing to serve Organisation of Islamic Cooperation

SAUDI ARABIA: A DCN multimedia system from Bosch is now delivering conferencing and interpretation within the Jeddah headquarters of the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation (OIC). Installed within the facility’s executive meeting room, the system was selected by Marcel Zaatar, senior audio visual engineer at Nesma Trading, who was responding to a request for ‘state-of-the-art technology’.

Formerly known as the Organization of the Islamic Conference, the OIC is the world’s second largest inter-governmental organisation after the United Nations. Established in September 1969, it now represents 57 states spread over four continents.

‘The performance of a conference system at an international organisation is particularly important,’ reflected Mr Zaatar. ‘The system needed to offer the highest audio quality, intuitive operation and an elegant design while also delivering flawless communication with interpreters.’

The installed solution comprises a central audio powering switch and 22 multimedia devices – one for each participant. ‘The OIC now has a user-friendly conference system that combines audio, video, meeting content and touchscreen technology,’ continued Mr Zaatar. ‘It’s a solution that can grow with the OIC’s needs.’
