Broadcast Solutions’ team effort at the Tour d’Azerbaidjan

AZERBAIJAN: Broadcast Solutions supported local production company, Baku Media Center, at the recent Tour d’Azerbaidjan bicycle race. The systems integrator provided its own S16 OB van and DSNG (Digital Satellite News Gathering) vehicle alongside production support for camera motorcycles, helicopters and planes, having been called upon to assist in the event for the third consecutive year.
The race, which consists of four stages and is part of the UCI Europe tour, saw Broadcast Solutions also supply Cineflex camera systems as well as additional staff to assist Baku Media Center in providing comprehensive coverage of the event. The technical personnel deployed comprised a team of engineers and director that not only provided the Baku Media Center staff with training on the technical side, such as with the OB van, but were also able to support the production aspect. This was due to the Broadcast Solutions team having developed extensive experience of working on bicycle races including the Tour de France and the bicycle events during the Olympic Games.
Changes have been made to the setup over the three occasions that Broadcast Solutions has provided assistance in the Tour d’Azerbaidjan’s coverage, with the German company taking responsibility for integrating additional equipment into the production chain each time. It states that the successful production of the recent race and the long lasting relationship with Baku Media Center proves Broadcast Solutions’ ability to support its customers beyond the delivery of tools.
