BXB enables liberal arts discussion

PAKISTAN: Habib University was founded in 2014 as non-profit independent liberal arts university. Located in Karachi, it offers undergraduate degree courses in science, engineering, arts and humanities and social sciences. With a strong focus on liberal arts, all students also take courses such as sociology, history, philosophy and anthropology. When the university recently sought new conferencing system, Britlite Engineering Company supplied and installed a BXB FCS-3000 digital conference system. Britlite serves as BXB’s Pakistani partner.

The installation comprised 18 delegate units and one chairman unit that were flush-mounted to the table. Each microphone has been paired with two RJ-45 ports and can be connected via Cat-5e cabling in a variety of configurations, such as daisy-chained or parallel, depending upon the application required. The speaking button and indicator light of each unit are on an aluminium panel that conceals the wiring. The 700mm gooseneck design of each microphone, meanwhile, allows the user to adjust the positioning.

Britlite’s Ashhad Ali served as the project manager overseeing this installation, which also saw the integraton of Extron’s IN1606 series and HDMI DA4 series switchers, an XPA 1002 series audio amplifier, Jamo ceiling speakers, MR1216 and MD0602 relay and dimmer light control from HDL Automation, and a Panasonic PT-VW530 projector.
