City Varsity lights up with Elation

SOUTH AFRICA: South Africa’s City Varsity school of media and creative arts has purchased a selection of Elation lighting products for use in its new multi-cam studio at its Braamfontein Johannesburg campus. Installed by Elation’s SA partner, The Production Warehouse (TPW), the broadcast-optimised fixtures include TVL CYC RGBW cyclorama wall washes, TVL Panel DW softlight luminaires and DW Fresnel LED lights.
According to TPW’s Marnus Nieuwoudt, Elation fixtures were selected as a result of the ‘wide range of colour temperatures that they offer, as well as the power savings of the LEDs and the wide zoom range of the DW Fresnel.’
The TVL CYC RGBW cyclorama wall washes are used to light the studio’s green infinity wall, the curved backdrop surface used in broadcast and photography to blend the floor and wall together. The TVL Panel DW softlight luminaires and DW Fresnel LED lights are used for general floodlighting, as well as front lighting and back lighting for both the infinity wall and the studio area. The complete purchase comprised 12 DW Fresnels, six TVL Panel DWs and six TVL CYC RGBWs.
