DAS supports Davido in Niamey

NIGER: Media Services Audiovisuel (MSA) was called in to supply the sound and audiovisual systems for a recent concert in Niamey by American-born Nigerian artist David Adeleke, better known as Davido. The concert was organised by the charity Ased Bonza with help from a number of sponsors, including Orange Niger.
The performance took place at the Stade Général Seyni Kountché, the largest stadium in Niamey and the lay out of the stage and audience area provided the biggest challenge for MSA. In Niger it is customary to perform in front of the main stand rather than at one end to the longer part of the stadium. This meant that MSA needed to provide extremely wide coverage to reach every point in the 160-degrees audience area.
The rental company has recently invested in a DAS Audio Aero 40A system and decided to put this into action for the concert. To cover the audience area, MSA deployed 16 Aero 40A in two eight cabinet hangs either side of the stage. The powered line arrays were supported by 16 of the manufacturer’s LX-218CA subwoofers set up in an arc configuration. Out-fill was handled by a further six Aero 40A, which were ground-stacked in front of the stage in two clusters of three. On stage, MSA called on DAS Action M12A powered monitors for fold back. The entire system was managed and controlled via a single DAS DSP-2060A digital signal processor.
According to MSA’s Olivier Thillou, both the artist and the event organiser were thrilled with the result and thanked the team for the exceptional sound.
