dB Audio Namibia takes country’s first dot2 XL-F console

NAMIBIA: The first MA Lighting dot2 XL-F lighting console to arrive in Namibia has been purchased by Windhoek-based production and rental company dB Audio. The desk was supplied by MA Lighting’s South African distributor, DWR, based in Johannesburg.

Founded in 2004 and now boasting a broad inventory of equipment drawn from the audio, video, staging and lighting sectors, dB Audio is prominent within the Namibian corporate and entertainment production markets. The purchase of the dot2 – the company’s first investment in an MA Lighting product – reportedly follows a long period of consideration, though the decision was sealed by the prospect of a particularly busy peak event season. The desk has been described by dB Audio David Benade as ‘an affordable and practical entry into the philosophy and principals of the MA control platform’.

‘David and his team were really keen on going down the MA route,’ added DWR’s Johnny Scholtz, ‘it ticked all their essential boxes’. Notably, dB Audio took delivery of the console without receiving a full demo, but has since declared itself delighted.
