Delta and Eclipse team up for Sting

UAE: Sting’s recent Back to Bass performance at the du Arena on Abu Dhabi’s Yas Island saw Dubai-based rental houses Delta Sound and Eclipse called into action. Delta was responsible for the audio equipment and radios, while Eclipse provided the lighting, cameras, IMAG and rear LED screens.
Sound for the Flash-organised two-hour concert was courtesy of Delta’s L-Acoustics K1 system. The setup saw L-R hangs of 12 K1 per side with three Kara down fill. Delays and fills called on 18 V-Dosc with a further 18 dV-Dosc. Meanwhile, low end was taken care of with 12 K1 subs plus an additional 24 SB28s.
Power for the system was courtesy of L-Acoustics LA8 and LA48 amplifiers. While two XTA DP448s and a further pair of the manufacturer’s DP226 controllers were also put to use. Delta also called on a small Clear-Com beltpack system with beyerdynamic headsets.
Delta’s Rob Eatock acted as the FOH sound co-ordinator, while Eclipse’s Duncan Shortt was responsible for the lighting design and operation.
