Delta covers Dave Matthews Band

UAE: Flash Entertainment called in Dubai-based rental house, Delta Sound, to cover the recent Middle East debut of the Dave Matthews Band. The event attracted 8,000 fans to Abu Dhabi’s Yas Arena.
The main PA for the event was formed of L-R hangs of eight L-Acoustics K1 with four K2 per side as downfill. A further 10 K2 were used on either side as sidefill while eight stacks of two Kara provided frontfill. Low end was taken care of through the combination of six flown K1 Subs per side behind the main hangs plus 24 ground stacked SB28s in an arc configuration. On stage, six L-Acoustics 115HiQ cabinets were put to use as monitors. The system was driven using L-Acoustics LA8 amplifiers.
‘Dave Matthews Band’s touring production provided all their own control elements and back line systems,’ recalled Delta Sound senior engineer, Rob Eatock. ‘Delta Sound included a small local control package consisting of a DiGiCo SD11, Galileo management systems and TASCAM playback units along with additional 115HiQ wedges.
‘I am a huge Dave Matthews Band fan not only for what they produce musically but also as individual musicians,’ continued Mr Eatock. ‘Their abilities are second to none and although making musicians of the world envious, they put on a brilliant show to boot. The crew were an absolute pleasure to work with which made a potentially difficult setup, very easy and stress free.’
