DIS celebrates DDS 5900 sales

MIDDLE EAST: Danish Interpretation Systems (DIS) has announced sales of its DDS 5900 digital discussion system in Jordan and Egypt. Both sales were handled through the manufacturer’s local partners in the countries and both were for projects at hotels.

The first sale comes from Advanced Solutions (AVS), exclusive distributor for DIS products in Jordan, which will provide three DDS 5900 systems to Landmark Hotel in Amman. The hotel is connected to a large conference centre which includes the ‘Royal Hall’, Amman’s largest column free hall. Sami Jalil Janho, general manager of AVS was keen to highlight the ‘features and the price/value ratio’ of the new digital discussion system. Following a short presentation, it was reportedly easy for him to convince the technical staff at Landmark.

‘I’ve spent three days in Amman recently so I could see with my own eyes what AVS is capable of doing,’ said Chris Hellmuth, area sales manager at DIS. ‘The audio-visual business is still some kind of niche market there and with their experience in conferencing, AVS is our first choice. Jordan as a neighboring country of Syria is facing hard times at the moment, but Sami and his team are doing an incredible job – of course they can count on our full support!’

The second sale came from Egyptian partner Teco. The company has recently placed its first order for two DDS 5900 systems. Both systems will be installed in the Airotel Hotel in Cairo.

The older analogue CDS 4000 discussion system has sold pretty well in the country over the last 20 years, so the manufacturer has high expectations for sales of the new digital system.
