DIS targets Egyptian rental market with new partner

EGYPT: Danish Interpretation Systems (DIS) has formed a partnership with Cairo-based Future Technology to target the rental business in Egypt.

The company was founded in 2009 by Mohamed Jamal who had formerly worked as an engineer for Samir Photographic Supplies, a long-term DIS partner in Saudi Arabia. ‘He presented our products very well in the Saudi Arabian market,’ said DIS area sales manager Chris Hellmuth. ‘When he went back to Egypt he was very interested in representing DIS, especially for the rental market.’

This was an area of particular interest for the manufacturer as despite being well represented in other parts of the market, it did not have a strong presence in the rental side of the business in Egypt. ‘He already had some customers and events going on but he couldn’t use DIS equipment because there was none available in Egypt on a rental basis,’ explained Mr Hellmuth. ‘So he approached us to purchase DIS equipment to offer for rental.’

DIS is actively targeting the Egyptian market and Mr Hellmuth is putting a particular emphasis on the rental side. ‘For us it is a new opportunity to go into the rental business because we know that some other companies are strong in Egypt, particularly in the rental market. We want to establish ourselves and try to get market share.’

Future Technology has already used its DIS IR equipment for one event, ‘Next Generation Strategy: the new norm of a post crisis world’, and Mr Jamal was reportedly ‘very happy’ about the performance of all the products.
