Dolby tops 600 Atmos screens in EMEA

EMEA: Dolby Laboratories has announced that there are now more than 600 Atmos screens installed or committed across the EMEA region. With a trend of all Atmos multiplexes beginning to be witnessed in EMEA, a total of 95 screens are set to open in the 2016 and 2017.
‘This influx of customer wins is clear evidence of the momentum that we continue to see with Dolby Atmos,’ said Andreas Spechtler, president of Dolby International. ‘With the commitment to open these new screens, we’re delighted to continue to bring immersive and breathtakingly realistic sound to audiences across EMEA.’
The trend is replicated worldwide with the manufacturer reporting over 1,800 Atmos screens installed or committed to in 60 countries, upwards of 130 mixing facilities and more than 465 titles announced with support from all major Hollywood studios.
