DWR to host Fall Arrest and Basic Rescue course

SOUTH AFRICA: DWR Distribution is set to offer a Fall Arrest and Basic Rescue course from 6th – 8th September 2016. Running for three days, the event will be presented by Gravity, and will train riggers, technicians, workers and site managers on how to conduct a potential rescue. It will take place at Unit 1, Block C, Kimbult Industrial Office Park, 9 Zeiss Road, Laserpark, Honeydew. The course will cover falls and fall factors, shock absorbing lanyards, connectors, helmets, anchors, slings and wire strops, work positioning lanyards, retractable lanyards and rescues. It will also cost ZAR3,700 per person. Delegates who pass the course will receive a certificate that remains valid for three years.
Those attending will require a certified copy of an ID document, as well as a valid medical certificate stating fitness for work at height. This must be valid for at least three months from the training date. Delegates must also be proficient in English reading and writing, up to the level of grade 10.
The event has been approved by Seta, Saqa, DOL, Eskom, Vodcam Cell C, MTN, MSN, Huawei Technologies Africa, ZTE, Ango Coal and Platinum as well as Exxaro.
