eclipse gains new HSE certification

UAE: eclipse Staging Services and eclipse Venue Services have both received OHSAS 18001:2007 Occupational Health Safety Management System certification, as well as the ISO 14001:2015 Environmental Management System certification. This underscores eclipse Group’s continued commitment to ensuring the health and safety of its staff and clients, as evidenced through the company’s annual HSE report and its HSE manager, Manu Abraham, becoming a registered Occupational Health and Safety Professional last year.

In order to receive the OHSAS 18001 certification, both eclipse Group brands underwent an audit in which they were measured against health and safety best practices, ensuring that they are compliant with international standards. With this in place, the eclipse Group as a whole is able to better maintain and improve upon its own health and safety policies.

The ISO 14001 certification, meanwhile, focuses upon the working environment, including warehouse and while onsite at events. It is designed to show that a company has demonstrated its commitment to safeguarding, decreasing its ecological footprint by reporting any findings and in strategising improvement. This now enables eclipse to control and manage its operational impact in several regards, including emissions, waste-handling, utilising natural resources and energy efficiency.

A yearly internal audit of eclipse’s management system is required as part of holding these certificates and will ensure compliance and continued health and safety development. Recertification takes place every three years.

‘Adding to the many actions we take to increase our HSE standards, we have developed a health, safety and environmental management system manual, outlining the processes and framework required to manage and maintain our HSE objectives, as per these certifications and systems,’ said Mr Abraham. ‘This manual is now included in the HSE inductions given to every new member of staff, detailing the level of safety knowledge required for each specific position within the company. Furthermore, we have made this manual available to the entire eclipse Group and their clients as a reference to the HSE mechanisms in place.’

‘Myself and the entire eclipse Group are continually aiming to meet the international standards of HSE and develop with them; ensuring that we keep our staff safe while allowing visiting companies to operate at the safe standards that they are accustomed to,’ explained eclipse Group CEO, Simon Ransom. ‘With the approach of the Expo 2020, it is vital that we all work towards bettering our industry’s standards, making a theme of the Expo 2020, a sustainable future, a reality.’
