Electro-Voice and Dynacord showcased at Seventh Kenya Music Week

KENYA: The Seventh Kenya Music Week, held in Nairobi’s Sarit Centre Expo Hall last week, provided a Central African debut for the Dynacord PowerMate3 powered mixer and a first outing in Kenya for the Electro-Voice XLC 127DVX compact-line array system.

‘Thanks to the number of installations and their performance at the FIFA World Cup in South Africa, Dynacord and Electro-Voice systems have a great image on the continent,’ said Electo-Voice and Dynacord partner Audio Visual Engineering Ltd’s (AVE) Omar Abdalla Sheikh. ‘Any new product from either of these brands is sure therefore to attract the closest attention of the entire African pro audio sector.’Mr Sheikh presented a range of microphones, amplifiers and mixers at the trade fair with technical support provided by Electro-Voice.

The programme, which included showcases and workshops, was sponsored by AVE. Kenya Music Week provided an opportunity to showcase the new equipment into the African pro audio and music scene. The Sarit Centre Expo Hall accommodated around 50 African dealers and distributors.

A concert and entertainment programme was among the attractions of the event; in addition to acts from Kenya and beyond, such as Abbas, Holy Dave, Sisko and Pili Pili, several hundred acts appeared.
