Festival Sound builds on DiGiCo line-up

SOUTH AFRICA: Festival Sound, a long-time user of DiGiCo consoles having first acquired an SD9 in 2012, has increased its inventory of the British manufacturer’s desks. The rental company has purchased an SD11 from distributor DWR Distribution, as well as its second SD9.

‘The addition of the second SD9 makes it possible for Festival Sound to supply two 96-channel consoles for FOH and monitor land,’ explained Jaco Beaukes from DWR Distribution. ‘This was a big step forward with serious benefits for them as they often supply gear for shows that demand high channel count consoles.’

Festival Sound has gone on to add a Waves Server-One and a Waves upgrade kit to one of the SD9s. The rental company’s owner, Petru Palmer, first used his upgraded SD9 for the recent Gospel Spectacular show at the Joburg Theatre.
