Focusrite and MediaCast talk networking at SAE Dubai

UAE: Following its recent appointment as Focusrite pro audio distributor for the Middle East, MediaCast held a training workshop at the SAE Institute in Dubai together with Adrian Hogg, EMEA pro and commercial business manager for Focusrite. The aim of the workshop was to provide students with a thorough understanding about Focusrite, the Dante protocol and the RedNet Series.

MediaCast hosted the event together with Randula De Silva, the audio course coordinator for SAE, which enjoyed a successful turnout of students undertaking the first year of the course and taking subjects such as Principles of Sound, Digital Audio and DAW Operations.

The three-hour session reportedly gave the students a deeper and thorough understanding of the Dante protocol and its importance in pro audio, and was followed by detailed information about the RedNet series, ending with a Q&A session.

‘The session was insightful for our students as understanding Dante and network audio is surely becoming the next step in audio production. We currently have a system setup and students are already practicing on the technology,’ said Mr De Silva. ‘The goal from SAE’s stand point was to enlighten the students on the current trends in the industry. As they graduate they will be exposed to such technologies. Getting them to understand and apply what they have learnt in this session will help them develop as the future audio specialist.’
