WORLD: Matt Ward, the former president of Universal Audio has become the CEO of the newly formed Brainworx USA. The new business unit is the German analogue modelling specialist and plugin developer’s US division.
In his new role, Mr Ward will focus on developing new business opportunities and assisting with distribution and marketing efforts for both Brainworx and its American sister company, Plugin Alliance, in the US. He will also be working directly with Brainworx Germany CEO Dirk Ulrich on growth strategies for the entire Brainworx family of companies.
Prior to his 10 year tenure in executive management at Universal Audio, Mr Ward worked in product management for other notable companies in the pro audio and music industries, including Studer Revox, Otari, and E-mu Systems. More recently, he has served as a strategic advisor to companies such as Manley Labs and PreSonus.
‘I am proud and excited to announce both the formation of Brainworx USA and Matt Ward taking up its CEO position,’ said Mr Ulrich. ‘Matt has been a friend and mentor of mine for several years, and, following his work with Universal Audio and beyond, he is the perfect fit for Brainworx with his widely-spread contacts and the respect he has gained for himself in the pro audio industry.’
‘Brainworx has rapidly risen through the ranks to become a market leader in plugin development. The passion that they have for high-quality audio is readily apparent in their products,’ added Mr Ward. ‘There is tremendous potential for growth, and I’m excited by the possibilities. Dirk Ulrich and I have been friends for years. It’s going to be a lot of fun to see all those ideas we’ve talked about taking shape.’
Following the formation of the US division, a new office will be opened in Scotts Valley, California to assist with focusing on business development and growth strategies.
