Francistown Stadium qualifies for 2017 with Prosound

BOTSWANA: Prosound Botswana has completed a milestone project for the country’s sporting community, having commissioned the audio systems within Francistown Stadium. The 26,500-seat venue was used for the first time as Botswana’s national football team, the Zebras, achieved a one-nil victory over Burkino Faso in a 2017 Africa Cup of Nations qualifier.
Prosound Botswana was contracted to install the sound system following a number of high profile stadium projects for the World Cup in 2010. For Francistown Stadium, the company selected a weather-proof One Systems 212 speaker array, reportedly delivering ‘enhanced speech intelligibility’. A point source design was used for the far north, south and east stands, with a distributed system to complement the grandstand. In the back of house areas and changing rooms, Bosch ceiling speakers were installed, while nX Series amplifiers from Ashly provide power. An Audio-Technica wireless system completed the set-up.
In addition to supplying the equipment, custom frames and brackets for the speaker system were designed, engineered and manufactured at Prosound headquarters in Johannesburg.
