Gearhouse invests in K2

UAE: Dubai-based rental company, Gearhouse, has added to its inventory with the purchase of a new L-Acoustics K2 system. The rental house now has a 32-box K2 system which it believes is perfectly suited to the current state and direction of the local market.
‘What L-Acoustics has understood from its customer base is we needed a more flexible box,’ said Gearhouse managing director, Peter McCann. ‘We needed the same characteristics as K1, but we needed to break it into smaller modules to go into the indoor arena. We needed all the mixed use and mixed functionality that we got from the V-Dosc,’ he explained.
‘It’s a reasonable investment for us and it’s only part of a much bigger investment picture,’ continued Mr McCann. ‘K2 is going to be an important box for us because of its flexibility. It can sit on the side of the cricket match for the IPL games, as much as it could sit in an 18 per side array.’
The company cites the growing live performance market in the Middle East as a reason for this investment. To this end it credits the work done by local promoters in bringing high-quality artists to the region to entertain local audiences.
