Green Hippo celebrates Middle East success

MIDDLE EAST: Following a recent training tour Green Hippo has seen some notable success in the Middle East. Part of this has seen eclipse Staging Services purchase a pair of V4 Taiga media servers.
The manufacturer’s user experience manager, Simon Harris and technical sales manager Tom Etra have both been busy training end user in the region. Mr Harris went out to Dubai to conduct a three day training course for the video crew at eclipse Staging Services.
‘I thoroughly enjoyed training the video team from eclipse,’ said Mr Harris. ‘They took to Hippotizer V4 like ducks to water and to see the product quickly exceed their high expectations was an absolute pleasure. Eclipse have a very talented team of technicians and I can't wait to read about the projects they use their systems on in the near future.’
‘I’m very happy we’ve taken this step further towards innovative video and projection solutions. Having these servers in our inventory makes projects simpler and faster to set up and it also means that virtually any project is completely transportable,’ added eclipse head of video, Lee Worthington.
Not long after the training sessions eclipse took one of its new V4 Taiga’s out for its first job, Infinity’s launch of the Q80 Inspiration and Q60 Concept models. The V4 Taiga was used to drive 517 panels of 3.9mm LED creating a screen 23.5m x 5.5m with an overall pixel count of 6016x1408.
‘The Hippo came into its own on this project as the Taiga’s high quality hardware paired with the flexibility of the output manager to send a large pixel count to several LED processors, all from the one unit made managing a large screen much easier compared to other smaller servers,’ said Mr Worthington. ‘We’re excited to see how these new media servers can broaden our capabilities in our coming projects and in turn allow us to continually supply a top notch industry-leading service.’
As for Mr Etra’s tour, this also began in Dubai with visits to Venuetech and Martin Professional Middle East. He then went onto visit other partners including Sultan Thomas from Wide Angle, who is very busy with Hippotizer shows in Lebanon and Dubai and has also recently purchased two V4 Taigas. Before then seeing Extreme Productions, who have just moved into their new offices to demo the advanced and new features of V4. ‘Shadi and Vinny were blown away by V4 and are looking forward to adding V4 to their rental stock early January 2016,’ said Mr Etra.
‘We are working closely with our partners in the Middle East and Africa and have successfully signed new partners as well as increasing our sales in this region by over 40 per cent,’ concluded Samantha Bailey, VP of business development. ‘We are very excited to see what exciting jobs 2016 holds for Hippotizer V4 and are on track to continue our growth.'
