Hitachi equips Ministry of Emergency Situations with communications vehicle

AZERBAIJAN: Hitachi Kokusai Turkey has delivered communications and video production vehicle to the Ministry of Emergency Situations of the Republic of Azerbaijan. A modified Toyota Land Cruiser, the vehicle is designed to provide video links from disaster zones, transporting its advanced communications systems to locations over terrain that other vehicles might struggle to traverse. The design, systems integration, manufacturing and commissioning work for the vehicle’s modifications took place at Hitachi’s specialist centre near Istanbul.
The Toyota Land Cruiser was essentially rebuilt by Hitachi to integrate the mobile multi communication platform, which includes a PKM 120 drive away antenna as well as PMR radio and cellular communication networks. Hitachi wireless cameras, a mobile antenna and coach building products, such as power generators, air conditioning systems, pneumatic masts, stabilising jacks and cranes and external lighting systems were also installed. Broadband satellite and mobile radio communications are facilitated onboard, alongside iridium satellite telephone and wireless 3/4G LTE technologies.
The vehicle has also been designed to produce broadcast-quality content. The video production equipment integrated comprises Hitachi HD6000 broadcast quality wireless cameras with production tools from Ross, AJA, Pals, Cisco and Harmonic.
