Iconic install for Zio

UAE: Zio Technologies has completed the installation for the Iconic store located in the Diera City Centre mall.
‘It is a mall inside mall concept and we put a lot of Bose and Samsung systems in there,’ said Zio CEO Parag Vadodaria. ‘We have put in background music, foreground music and a DJ system,’ he explains. The company has installed Bose FreeSpace DS100 and DS16 speakers as well as Panaray 802s. ‘The concept was more for foreground music to use loud music to attract the young crowd. The store caters to the needs of the teenage audience and it wanted an effective A/V system to mirror this.’
The final system consists of clustered speakers as well as full-range speakers which have been connected with Biamp Audiaflex for the DSP and paging as well as a music server as the source. ‘We have given Iconic a very flexible paging system,’ said Mr Vadodaria. ‘Each area has been covered accordingly for BGM or FGM; because of the zoning system we could achieve that.’
Zio had to face a number of challenges with this project. ‘In the first zone, which is the main entrance, there is a double ceiling height and it is all glass, so there was no where to put any ceiling speakers or wall speakers. We had to create a cluster of speakers with the right sound pressure level.’
It was a three month project from start to finish for Zio which also included the digital signage system from Samsung. This part of the project includes 28 screens on a single network which each have zoning facilities so each screen can be addressed individually.
‘There was no consultant involved in the project,’ explained Mr Vadodaria. ‘The client wanted certain things and we built the system around these preferences.’
